Griffin fought earlier this month at UFC 115 dropping a unanimous decision to Evan Dunham, only his 3rd loss in 10 fights in the Octagon.

Griffin vs. Gomi is set to be broadcast on the main card of UFC On Versus 2.  The event takes place on August 1 at the San Diego Sports Arena in San Diego, California.

The Spike telecast will run for one-hour, leading up to the 10pm ET pay-per-view portion of UFC 115 which takes place at the GM Place in Vancouver, British Columbia.

The first bout scheduled to air is Ultimate Fighter Season 6 winner Mac Danzig (20-7-1) against “Handsome” Matt Wiman (11-5).  Danzig is 3-3 in the UFC and is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Justin Buchholz at UFC 109.  Wiman boasts a 5-3 record inside the UFC Octagon, with wins over Thiago Tavares and Shane Nelson on his resume, as well as a “Fight of the Night” battle against Sam Stout.

The evening’s second televised bout pits rising star Evan Dunham (10-0) against top contender Tyson Griffin (14-2).  Dunham has won his first three contests in the UFC against Per Eklund, Marcus Aurelio and Efrain Escudero.  Griffin has defeated an impressive roster of opponents including Clay Guida, Hermes Franca and Gleison Tibau.  He has captured “Fight of the Night” honors five times in his career.

Other bouts from the undercard may be broadcast, depending on the length of the first two fights.

UFC 115 takes place on Saturday, June 12 and features a headline matchup between Chuck Liddell and Rich Franklin.
