Jens “Lil Evil” Pulver has been released from his contract with the WEC, according to Zuffa LLC officials.
UFC President Dana White first announced the news following UFC 114 and the release was confirmed on Wednesday by MMAWeekly.com
Pulver, the former UFC lightweight champion, joined the WEC in 2007 competing in the 145lbs division. He made his debut in December of that year defeating Cub Swanson. Following the Swanson victory, Pulver lost five straight, including twice to Urijah Faber and most recently a first round submission loss to Javier Vazquez in March.
The 35 year-old is 22-13-1 in his mixed martial arts career.
