Former UFC welterweight champion Matt Serra announced that his next fight will take place at UFC 109 against Frank Trigg.
Serra posted the news to his official Facebook account.
“Signed to fight Frank Trigg on Feb 6 in Vegas(UFC). Should be an exciting fight!!! I love the UFC…they keep hooking me up with the most arrogant guys to punch in the face!!!” Serra posted.
The 35-year old native-New Yorker is coming off consecutive losses in the UFC. In a rematch with current welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre in April 2008, Serra was defeated by TKO in the second round. His last appearance was in May, where he lost a hard fought match against Matt Hughes. Overall, Serra holds a professional record of 16-6.
Trigg made a return to the UFC in September after a four year absence, losing to Josh Koshcheck by TKO at UFC 103.
UFC 109 is expected to take place on February 6th, from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.
