The WEC handed out a total of $40,000 in bonuses for last night’s WEC 44 event on Versus, including $10,000 each for “Knockout of the Night,” “Submission of the night,” and “Fight of the Night.”
New featherweight champion Jose Aldo was awarded “Knockout of the Night,” for his second round TKO of former champ Mike Brown.
Shane Roller took home the “Submission of the Night” bonus, forcing Danny Castillo to tap from a rear naked choke in round three.
Cub Swanson and John Franchi each grabbed a check for “Fight of the Night.” Swanson ultimately came away with the victory, forcing Franchi to tap from a rear naked choke with ten second left in the third round.
