EA Sports today announced that Strikeforce fighters Jake Shields and Brett Rogers both will be included in their upcoming MMA video game.
The news comes as both men prepare to do battle tomorrow night on Strikeforce’s “Fedor vs. Rogers” event.
EA also announced that Strikeforce will be featured as a premier league. Strikeforce’s cage and commentary team of Frank Shamrock and Mauro Ranallo, as well as ring announcer Jimmy Lennon Jr., will be incorporated into the game.
“We are very excited to be working with Strikeforce and feature them as a premier league in our game,” said Executive Producer Dale Jackson. “They have a wealth of mixed martial arts expertise, put on great shows and have a great stable of top-notch fighters. Together we look forward to growing the sport and delivering an immersive interactive gaming experience.”
EA also noted that legendary MMA referee “Big John” McCarthy has been tapped to preside over the action in the cage.
The full lineup of fighters now confirmed for the game now include:
Brett Rogers
Jake Shields
Randy Couture
Fedor Emelianenko
Frank Shamrock
Jason “Mayhem” Miller
Renato “Babalu” Sobral
Gegard Mousasi
Jay Hieron

EA Sports MMA is scheduled to be released sometime in 2010 for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 platforms.
