BumpyKnuckle.com: Obviously Rampage and Dana were both a little annoyed at Roy’s actions after his victory last week. What were your feelings on his post-fight antics?
Zak: The double Whopper with cheese no pickle thing was funny and directed for business purposes. Roy is smart, very smart. The thing about thanking Rampage for helping him was a dig at his coaching ability. It was in bad taste but it is true, only a fool is mad at the truth.
BumpyKnuckle.com: Were you surprised that Demico tapped when he did, did it look like a tight choke from your vantage point?
Zak: My stance is if it is a blood choke, fight till you go to sleep. I was surprised he tapped so fast.
BumpyKnuckle.com: Rampage was upset that Demico tried to pass guard, do you think he should’ve just tried to ground-and-pound from guard?
Zak: He looked lost from guard and he was fine in side mount. When he went for full mount is when things started to go down hill.
BumpyKnuckle.com: What was the situation with no one supporting Demico after his loss?
Zak: As a team, the previous three fights we never went into the cage. The coaches have only consoled Kimbo after his fight. It shows what kind of coach Rampage really is.
BumpyKnuckle.com: What did you hear about Matt Mitrione telling Scott Junk about the proposed matchups?
Zak: I did not care, it was high school drama. Also, Scotty should not have told Justin and we could have used the info.
BumpyKnuckle.com: Do you think Matt was actually scared to fight Marcus?
Zak: I actually do think he was scared.
BumpyKnuckle.com: At this point in the show, how were you feeling after seeing three fights and training with guys you may end up fighting down the road?
Zak: I was feeling confident.
BumpyKnuckle.com: From your experience on the show, does it play to a fighter’s advantage to fight early or later?
Zak: I think it is six one way and a half a dozen the other. Fighting later means more training and fighting early means more rest between the first two fights. It all depends on the fighter and situation.
